In search of the windswept and wonderful
That's sea salt glistening amidst the folds of this crisply fragrant bar: refreshing cold-pressed lime essential oil sweetened with a few drops of seductive ylang ylang flower oil and a classic scent, West Indian bay essential oil—the scent of the windward coast, from whence fishermen head upwind, breaking their boats against the waves, into the sea.
Our sea salt is harvested on the windswept Cornish coast on this side of the Atlantic to give just a little texture and emollience to the bar, for a nice, smoothing slip.
Our Sargasso Botanica soaps begin with a base of coconut butter + aloe vera. To this, we add olive oil, mango butter, and wildcrafted Amazonian murumuru butter.
Our Windward soap contains a scent blend of all natural essential oils and coarsely ground sea salt as an exfoliant and humectant.

Sea salt harvesting in Grand Saline, Haiti. Here, the salt is a pure white and harvested using solar energy. We know of small operations harvesting sea salt in the Caribbean, and we hope to be doing this ourselves before too long.
